1290847 2012-07-26 19:35:00 In the late 70s I was helping a mates father build a shed. I was working away when a Pukeko walked past so I held the safety lever in and fired a shot from a nail gun as anyone would because its an impossible shot but I got the puke and fell over flapping till it died.
No probs though you can legally shoot pukes and they are nasty birds anyway.

They probably think humans are a real bastard race as well. Every creature on earth has place in our world.

I was thinking of more the bird kind!

That would trick most I must say.

1290851 2012-07-26 23:33:00 Kea can certainly think. That is why they can be such a nuisance. Being highly intelligent they get into anything they want to. Not so good at dodging stones though :) CliveM (6007)
1290852 2012-07-27 00:51:00 Mainly instinct I think, or at most pretty basic.

Must be awful for the chickens we eat on their last days.

1290853 2012-07-27 07:53:00 I think they can find plenty of people who can throw well - at inanimate objects.
Why praise some revolting kid who thinks it's fun to harm living things?
I'm sure the kid was very surprised and actually didn't mean any harm.

I will never forget when I was working behind a bar and this guy Angus was blowing cigar smoke out of his mouth as some do. Anyway I happened to have a piece of ice in my hand and squeezed it between thumb and finger. I was thinking, where did it go (I did not think there was room for it), and Angus was wondering what was in his mouth. It was really a one in a trillion shot.

It amazes me how most humans don't think they are animals.
