1290383 2012-07-24 04:47:00 And what have you learnt since then?

1290384 2012-07-24 05:41:00 It's still only sissies who vote Labour, and wusses who vote Green. Richard (739)
1290385 2012-07-24 05:51:00 You can see the value of this forum. If these jokers didn't have somewhere to vent from time to time they would all go nuts and start biting people.

1290388 2012-07-24 06:28:00 Eh? Where's this sane bit of the world to be found? I've been out most of the day, and missed this newsworthy event. R2x1 (4628)
1290389 2012-07-24 06:34:00 I am disappointed that people on this forum that I otherwise respect every now and then show an unpleasant streak. Intolerance towards anybody 'different', just like the republicans in the US

Of course, I was no different in my younger days. We used to scorn anybody who played soccer (as it used to be called) or if their family had a 4-cylinder car. Women were treated like walnut trees, girls were "pieces of fluff". The mentally ill were like that through their own fault. Anybody poor was automatically lazy and probably alcoholic, only sissies voted labour....

I'm disappointed you miss the point entirely and then use your lack of comprehension to pass judgement on other more enlightened people.

This is about resentment towards social engineering, Not about whatever you are going on about.

1290390 2012-07-24 06:35:00 Kutikuti - scissors lol. A lot of their words came from the English ones - I think.
There is really no point in learning a language that no one hardly speaks. It is a dead language. If someone uses the language on TV, Radio or on signs and posters it is usually translated anyway so there really is hardly any point in learning it. This Maori language week thing is all about trying to exhume the long dead language in my view anyway. I remember sitting in Maori class a few years back and man was I BORED and boredom makes you do some crazy things, yep my teacher hated me. Everyone dreaded the period when had Maori. I can hardly remember anything from doing 8 years of learning Maori. That was a waste of time.

Actually, I stumbled accross a bit of the Maori language on YouTube (www.youtube.com) the other day.
