1313865 2012-11-22 18:36:00 You can try a in-place upgrade using a Windows Vista SP2 installation DVD. This is like doing a OS repair in Windows XP. Remember to backup important data. Profix (16949)

1313867 2012-11-22 23:36:00 Ok, have now fixed the 8024402F error on all six computers by using the Google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 settings.

Thank you Speedy and Koenig Tiger for your input.

1313869 2012-11-23 00:00:00 I only had the fault on my two Win7 computers, (3 XP and 1 Win8 ok), both now fixed by changing to the Google DNS, then back to Auto, both updated with no problems after giving this error code (8024402F) for the last 2 weeks.

One of my computers which was heavily customized has been virtual put back to mint Windows by my numerous attempts to fix it using many supposed fixes garnered from Google off the internet; so that is extremely annoying.

What is going on, all my computers are on the same network???

1313870 2012-11-23 00:12:00 Only need to change to static DNS once it would seem as that fixes it then back to auto....
Great fix since it actually works unlike all the other rubbish floating around....

Love to hear from MS as to what they changed in November to cause this as all my friends suffered the same hassle..

1313871 2012-11-23 00:17:00 Only thing I can think of it's some kind of ip / DNS issue. Speedy Gonzales (78)
