1289749 2012-07-21 09:44:00 When I was an Appliance Serviceman, I hated going into houses with no one there.
It just felt creepy.

I wonder if they will do a show from the tradesmen point of view, it is eye opening at times what you see.
And that is not just the "ladies of the house" in varies states of undress.:eek:

1289750 2012-07-23 01:38:00 Well as an ex trady I am going to put my side forward, yes I prefer people to be home, what I can't stand though and I have walked off jobs because of it is people watching over my shoulder breathing down my neck. Be home but at least give them the space to do the job
I have walked off a job too when this women tried to tell me how to do the job when she didn't have a clue herself but had talked to everone in town. From memory they got through seven painters on that job.
Actually I find I usually get far more work done when no one is at home as there are no distractions.

1289752 2012-07-23 06:20:00 After watching the tug doctor episode of target, I would be surprised if anyone leaves a trademan into their Home if no one is home. We often have clients come in to pass jobs on the press, which is fine. But won't start running the job untill their leave. Their always seem to want to stand where I do. plod (107)
1289753 2012-07-23 06:32:00 Most insurance companies do not cover you for people you have let into your home. So if a tradesperson (or even your "friends") steals anything from you then too bad, you won't be able to make a claim for the loss. Another reason to stay at home if you can. FoxyMX (5)
