1314509 2012-11-24 03:35:00 Hi there. My 16GB San Disk Cruzer Blade USB flashdrive will not alow be to write to it.
I have tried changing the Storage Device Polices DWORD in the registry to 0 from 1. No change.
Works with other flash drives. Windows won't let me format it so do you people know of any format tools that will override write protection?
Thanks.

1314510 2012-11-24 04:03:00 There's no physical lock switch on it? What happens when you plug it into another computer, does it still not let you access it? Nick G (16709)
1314511 2012-11-24 04:07:00 No physical lock at all. And no it makes no difference to what PC it is on. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1314512 2012-11-24 05:08:00 According to this, it's a known hardware prob. If they get a fault, they write protect themselves? (forums.sandisk.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)

Thank you for letting me know.

It it just me or is it that ALL my storage devices have had an error at some stage.

1314517 2012-11-25 06:51:00 :D yep.

Going to see if I can get a warranty replacement for the USB stick. Had it for about 11 months.
