| 1289898 | 2012-07-21 20:57:00 | 96c could be a good pay rise depending on what you were getting before hand. I got a $2 hour pay rise last week. In this so called recession I have got up in wages $5 hour since starting new job in April 2008, previous job took me ten years to get the same amount in raises | plod (107) | ||

IMO if you want a faster career it might mean contracting or fixed term contracts that's my experience in non It roles. But yeah .. if you just stay in the same job/company and expect to move up that way might slower. And I have known a person did a Comp Sci degree again 3yr and became a govt policy analayst, at the time he was maybe in his 50s. Every graduate does 3yr so no big deal. The min university qual is 3yrs afaik, you cannot do the 1 or 2yr certs/diplomas/others unless you have graduated with a undergraduate degree first. Unless maybe if you did a vocational qualification for a some weeks also can at the uni. I have more than 1 Bachelor, my first role was in a call centre. My trainer at the time did a 3yr BA at uni .. |
