82440 2002-09-24 07:39:00 Man that was fast, I only heard about Kazaa 2.0 today.

Get it here (130.89.87.86:88)

I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but download it anyway.

82441 2002-09-24 08:28:00 I downloaded Kazaa lite today (got ver 1.7.2) I was worried that ver2 was the spyware version.

Should I download over the top - or do a fresh install

82442 2002-09-24 08:35:00 Uninstall 1.7.2 and install 2.0 (you can't install over the top.)

Make sure you get 2.0 from one of the kazaalite sites. I just installed and ran adaware - spyware free.

82443 2002-09-24 08:39:00 Hi Baldy,

With KaZaa they reccommend you uninstall all other versions
before installing new!

You will probably find the uninstall leaves your shared file alone

and probably any shortcut Icons, but it picks them up with new version

I must away and get the new one,

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

82446 2002-09-24 10:45:00 THis bit in the agreement of this lite version spooked me out:

"Please note that installing this software is ILLEGAL and is in violation of the KaZaA Media Desktop Terms of Use."

Any comments?

They are just covering their asses in case the original makers of Kazaa try to sue them. If they warn you that the program is against the rules of the original license etc, and you install it anyway, they can try to absolve themselves of responsibility. Don't worry about it, I would rather click yes to that agreement than click yes to the one on Kazaa (not lite) and agree to fill my machine with spyware.
