82556 2002-09-24 11:37:00 It is probably a very big email with an attachment which is blocking your downloading of email.
Friends, family have a habit of sending photo's which are far too large for downloading.

Call your ISP helpdesk and they will delete it for you.

You could also login to your ISP WebMail program and this will download all the headers of your email.
There will be an option there to select and delete the offending message.

82557 2002-09-24 11:41:00 Thx all. Replies instructive & appreciated. mercury3600S (2009)
82558 2002-09-24 11:55:00 Thankyou....had managed to get the mail coming in again, by going OUT of Outlook, and trying again. It eventually cleared, and I deleted the dratted thing. Was ALMOST tempted, as had saw friends name on it,.....but decided it was just rubbish, and knew the "NEVER EVER REPLY" bit. Maryann (2010)
82559 2002-09-24 12:42:00 But what was sent to you, Maryann?

Some e-mails ARE very large, that doesn't necessarily mean they have malicious content!

82560 2002-09-24 19:36:00 It was the e-mail regarding Bill Gates, with all the dozens of "hopefuls"....with friend being sender. Decided they are all
maybe more "up in the air" than me. However, if friend gets nice fat cheque, I hope she remembers me. I will allow her to say "told you so"!!
....in the nicest possible way.

82561 2002-09-24 21:40:00 more trademe members, eh? I was just reading the thread over there regarding this.. what a small world it is :D honeylaser (814)
82562 2002-09-24 23:32:00 And the biggest virus on the net is, and probably always will be "Compulsive message forwarding"

Chris.

82563 2002-09-24 23:39:00 The ones I hate getting are the ones that get sent with a mp3 attached. Especially when some noddy decides to send a really, really crappy song.

BALDY:-)

82565 2002-09-24 23:48:00 Maryann, rather than waiting for her to say "I told you so"... send her this link: www.symantec.com

and suggest that in future she check out other hoaxes at: www.symantec.com
