I was so impressed with what everyone had to say about my last query that I thought I would try another....

Last week my friend came around to play Quake II...(we ARE oldies)

Since my own monitor is shot I borrowed my daughter's monitor and hooked it up. Thing was I heard soundtrack using this monitor that I had never heard before using any other monitor..( I have used three different ones)..I have a seperate sound card in this OLLLLLlddddddd machine and the speakers are the same. So why does a different monitor alter what I heard????? Any ideas much appreciated!

(p.s. My office machine has never recovered from Powerdefrag....I think I am going to have to scrap it!)

83021 2002-09-25 11:29:00 Did you install any drivers with this monitor? Has the monitor got its own speakers in it?

When I replaced my 15" monitor with speakers with a 17" monitor without speakers I lost my sound. Even with a pair of speakers I still don't get a squeak out of it. Headphones work, but only just, with very faint sound.

Still haven't figured out why. :-(

83023 2002-09-25 12:26:00 Susan your speakers on the monitor had a volume knob (of some sort) didn't they. This is because they will be amplified.

Try plugging you PC into the stereo I'm sure the sound will be good. Because the stereo has amplifiers.
