| 83717 | 2002-09-27 09:23:00 | My old pugwash@ihug.co.nz address now gets more spam than i get pressf1 notification email! That's alot of spam. Am i alone, or is spam having a bit of a upsurge? Most of the HUGE increase has been over the last week. Fortunatly the address dies in a month, cause i finally found the time to tell ihug to kill it. And for the benifit of the spammers robots that read this.. add these to yer lists: millsix@ihug.co.nz millfest@ihug.co.nz chchgig@ihug.co.nz They'll be dead in a month too! Sad that the robots cant read that. |

| 83719 | 2002-09-27 09:48:00 | paradise is my main ISP too, NO spam comes in through my @paradise.net.nz addresses, either. (yet) I also get no spam through my personal_address@my-own.domain.co.nz The "pugwash" address has been out there for about 5 maybe six years sinse when i bought my first computer. I kept it on for the transition, as it was well known by many slack freinds who have difficulty updating the records. It gets bombarded now. I think posting it freely on this site probably has attracted a wee bit of attention. |

| 83720 | 2002-09-27 10:41:00 | I made the stupid mistake of posting mine here once months ago. The spam promptly started coming to me as well as to "George" on my domain - whoever he may be. The last few weeks saw a massive increase of a particularly nasty type. HTML emails with code in it's head to download a picture off a website AND record the visit on a tracker. All to do with gambling sites. Obviously checking my address so they can add it to a live email list. As I rather like HTML emails - within reason - and use the preview pane in Outlook Express (laziness here, about time I learnt Pegasus) I set to work with Message Rules. Anything with the word "gamble", "casino" and one or two other variations in the domain name - and of course, any message to George - are now deleted from the server. I'm almost beginning to miss the spam! - it's reduced to one or two a day. None of it porn or gambling. |

| 83721 | 2002-09-27 11:01:00 | Most of the spam i get through the pugwash@ihug.co.nz address is for something to stop balding, and better mortgage finance.. which is amusing in its own right, given that i have hair to my but, and OWN my land.. Yes i've noticed a huge amount of it has at least one image that is coming of a server somewhere.. I just assumed that it was statistical, rather that tracking my specific personalized spam. Its got to the point where i go off-line as i sort my e-mail out, so the images never get to load, and the recite of the e-mail never gets counted spam spam spam...... |

| 83723 | 2002-09-27 12:34:00 | Well I have never received any spam at my @xtra.co.nz e-mail even after nearly 4 years, however Hotmail is another question. I got a new account a little while ago and i hadn't given out the address to anyone and the spam was already piling up. I now get about 100 in my junk mail folder every week or two, most of them having sexual connotations as well. My yahoo accounts however do not suffer that much from spam, my main one getting perhaps 2 a week and the three others getting perhaps 1 a month. I also have a e-mail @eminem.com which has never seen any spam in its life. Yes I have 7 e-mail accounts, don't we all? Cheers Sam H |

But Hotmail!!!!!! Finished up putting the filters on full blast and only those I want get through to me . I am amazed at how much is going into the junk mail . Nearly all of it sexual and pretty explicit . My address is supposedly unavailable?? Guess these people have nothing better to do . |
