| 83555 | 2002-09-26 11:57:00 | After having installed incompatible CD burning software on a friends PC for the external HP8200 CD writer onto windows xp prof, I consequently uninstalled it and have the new software via the web downloaded and ready to go! In the meantime though, every time the computer boots to the desktop, a small notice pop up window appears to the right, at the bottom warning me that it is unwise to install incorrect burning software. To get rid of this window, you simply click on it, but frustrating to have to do this every time! Until such time as I get around to installing the new software, how can I get rid of this window. I am guessing a Registry entry needs to be removed? Or should I just leave it, and install the correct software when I get a chance? I am guessing that the message will disappear once the correct drivers/software have been installed? Any thoughts? cheers!!! jeff |

Is there a little box on the message that says Do not show me this message again? If not... Click start, run and type msconfig a new window will pop up, on the window select the start up tab and see if there is something there that corresponds to the warning message you are getting. If there is you can un-tick the box and then click Apply then OK, and it should not appear on startup again. Hope this helps. Regards Sam H |
