84085 2002-09-28 08:59:00 I recently installed SP1... the only problems is....

1) the CPU usage is very high... 60-80%

2) when first to turn on the computer... *loading* after that... then I wanna to use IE... the log in won't automatic connect to ISP...

Any suggestion???

Thanks

84086 2002-09-28 11:34:00 RE: Q2

When the Connect To dialog box opens up, is there a tick beside "save password" and "connect automatically" ?

84087 2002-09-28 12:51:00 Yes... the password is saved, and there is a tick there...
:)

This is what I get... when first open up Internet...

res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.xtra.co.nz/

so only way to connect is manual way... by going to network connections etc

84088 2002-09-28 22:29:00 I did a Google search on res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm and found this discussion (www.antionline.com). Have a read and see if any of that applies to you. Jen C (20)
84089 2002-09-28 22:58:00 Some basic settings are reset to default with SP1

With Internet Explorer open select Tools/Internet Options

Click on Connections tab at the top
Make sure your ISP is showing as the default.Hilight and click set default
Make sure "always dial my default connection" has the dot in it.
Click Apply and OK
