84058 2002-09-28 05:51:00 If you are writing tem as MP3's, then I have never come across a stereo that will play MP3 format. In this case you need to convert them to audio format before writing them.

If you are converting them, be aware that some CD players in stereos dont recognise CD-R. Depends on the age and quality of the CD player, plus the media.

84059 2002-09-28 05:54:00 The ONLY CD that's worked on every player I've tried is the Kodak Gold + Silver ones. Good as gold! GF's right, You'll need to make an Audio CD out of your MP3's, not an MP3 CD!

Depending on your burning software, should be real straight-forward!

Cheers

84060 2002-09-28 06:20:00 Like godfather said, only the latest stereos will play MP3s.

I use Nero's Wizard to transfer my MP3s from the computer to CD-R disks and it converts them to audio files automatically for me. Burning at a slow speed, eg 8x helps to get a good result and so far my CDs will play on all our CD players, including the ten year old one

Use CD-R disks, not CD-RWs.

84061 2002-09-28 07:09:00 hi susan i use nero to burn the cd,s at 8x i am using harvey normans brand rewrights me be they are not good enought for the job. farmdude52 (2056)
84062 2002-09-28 07:18:00 In that case its more likely to be the quality of the stereo CD player (or an aging laser)

If the stereo cant hack CD-R there isnt much you can do about it. I had one that wouldnt play CD-R (well, sometimes, but would skip a lot)

Try the CD-R on another stereo to prove it.

It IS possible they don't suit your stereo. I use Verbatim disks and nearly fell over backwards when they worked on ALL our players. I hadn't expected the oldies to cope.

Rewrights?? You aren't using CD-RW disks are you? If so, that wouldn't help at all.

Try another brand of disk (not el-cheapo) and see how you go.

84064 2002-09-28 11:16:00 You have to use CD-R not CD-RW for audio cds, they won't work. SoniKalien (792)
84065 2002-09-28 11:45:00 Well Technically thats not true..

CDRWs can work in CD players but they have to support it.
My brand new (as of last month) (drove it out of the showroom with 28 ks i did) Company car plays mp3s on CDRWs. But the new (sort of got it on a deal thru a mate) Stereo will only play MP3s on CDRs and spits a dummy on CDRWs..Gets what you pay for i suppose. Pay for it and it fails.Get it for free.....

Oh well Shame i cant get jetstream in my car

84066 2002-09-28 11:47:00 My nearly new Aiwa stereo plays CDRW, and boasts about it on the front labelling. Its still a rarity, most cant handle CDRW godfather (25)
