| 84025 | 2002-09-28 04:14:00 | Alrighty, I've managed to get the second display adapater in my m/c. In Win2K, When I go into the device manager and then select the display adapter with the Exclamation Mark, It says in the Device Status: This Device cannot start (Code 10) Click Troubleshooter to start the troubleshooter for this device. The Device is enabled, and there's two free IRQ channels. I know that it works fine coz when I put it in on its lonesome it goes perfect. Both Graphics adapters are multi monitor compatible, Done it with them both in 98. So, What does the Code mean, and why wont it work??? AfAIK It's all set up right... so what gives?? | 84027 | 2002-09-28 06:03:00 | Alright, I went there, Bookmarked it for future refernce, But I know the device works fine in Win2K and needs no driver or anything, It comes up fine if I switch places on PCI... Also, (I'm trying this out with 3 different cards) One always take primary, and another always takes second... That's kinda weird... I was thinking maybe its something in the BIOS... The Card I'm using that's not working (Well, the card thats in there at the moment.. I'm gonna try and stick to this config) is a S3 Trio 32/64. The primary that's working right, is a S3 Trio 64V2. I'm gonna try a driver update.. Think I've got some lying around, otherwise I'll get them off the web! Will let ya know how I get on. Cheers Chilling_Silence |

| 84028 | 2002-09-28 06:43:00 | Okay, I got a driver, but its for 98 and 95, I'm running 2K. I got it in safe mode and it said there wasnt a driveer installed so I used the default one. Restarted like normal, same problem. So, I tried the driver Off a CD (Not Knowing it was 98) and it came up with the same title like it did when I had 98.. S3 Inc Trio64V+ PCI So, I'm looking for a win2k driver, yet it works fine when it's got no other card but the trio 64V+ PCI?! What gives? Chilling_Silence |

| 84029 | 2002-09-28 10:34:00 | IT IS ALL MS'S FAULT!!! I formatted and went to 98. No probs apart from the need for one of the IRQ's to be changed, then, worked without a hitch, no driver update or cr@p like that! Now... I was missing NDIS.VxD and NTKERN.VxD as well in the Network cards properties, and NTKERN.VxD in the USB Root Hub's Properties. So, I go browsing through the CAB files on the MS 98SE CD. Stupid me though, copies all the files in the cabs to the System and that last foler VMM32 or something in the System Folder also. So, I reboot, and about 7-8 errors come up, and it shuts down. Not even a GUI! Safe mode... Yeah RighT!! So, I'm reinstalling doze here, 98SE.. I'm hpoing this time the network will net-WORK. What's got me is why wouldn't 2000 do the monitors? I liked it better, although it was slower. Security was better than 98 for the network. Ah, well, another late nite doze install, Ya get used to it. Anybody who can answer the quiestions, it would be much appreciated. Cheers Chilling_Silence |
