83931 2002-09-28 02:34:00 I would really appreciate it if you could post replies stating how many games you might buy in an average year, what platforms they would be for (PC, PS, PS2, Cube, Xbox, Gameboy) and maybe if you are planning on buying a new console for Christmas, which one.

Don't need to know what games, just trying to establish what sort of spend results from someone committing to a platform.

Thanks

robo.

83932 2002-09-28 02:45:00 I've got a N64 and a PC.
For the N64 - about 5-6 a year
For the PC - 10 a year.

New console for Christmas, maybe an XBox., but most likely not getting a new one at all. I'm gonna wait for the next wave!

83933 2002-09-28 02:57:00 For a PC anywhere from 5-15 games a year. (this year so far would be close to 10, which is probably what I usually get).

Console? I don't do consoles... don't have enough time for a console - I barely have enough time for my PC :D

83934 2002-09-28 02:59:00 10 a year !!!!! Dude, when do you get time to play them all.

PC - approx 3 a year, usually 1 @ the $100 mark and a couple of the "year-old" $30 variety.
No plans for a console.

83935 2002-09-28 03:00:00 BTW, How strictly reasearch is this... Are we going to see an article on it.... YOU JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT CONSOLE TO BUY YOUR DAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS DON'T YOU! I think we've busted him, Sherlock, go home its already solved.

*Stops and thinks for a moment that Chilling_Silence has no idea what he's going on about but doesn't really care anyways*

83936 2002-09-28 03:05:00 I've already done my 10 a year. Not time left in between 2 Jobs and Tertiary study.... No social life except through MSN. Man, They just dont make games like they used to. Pokemon rom... took me ages.... Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time... 7 Months!!! Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 - 2 months.

All the new ones.... So easy... so simple.... I'm getting dungeon seige, Hopefully that'll take a while, I didn't even finish the demo in the 20 odd hours I spent playing it.

BTW, i'm nothing compared to a mate of mine, he does about 25 games a year. Pokemon, He did Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Gold and the Trading card game, in 2 months!!!! Now, Who else can rival him??? Not me!

i only buy ones i will keep for years. come on quake4 :)

83939 2002-09-28 04:19:00 Well, Technically I should be in school still, but I'm doing part time study with http://www.openploytechnic.ac.nz as you'd see in the education post. Between that and a job at Xzact Cyber Cafe in Te Atatu and working at IDG in the arvo's. Gaming get the rest of my time.

No social life. Its a shame

83940 2002-09-28 04:57:00 I buy 2-3 games per year for my PC. Half of them will be the $$$ variety and the rest one of the EA classic games which are cheaper.

Don't do consoles (bad enough trying to control a mouse!).

Don't do or won't do XBox or PS2 because I'd rather spend the money on setting the PC up for gaming.
