2002-09-30 02:54:00 | I know that Corel Draw can publish to a PDF. Just scan into that. | -=JM=- (16) | |
2002-09-30 06:35:00 | Yeah, except I don't have Corel, and can't afford it. (Don't suggest P2P - that's a bit too dodgy). Any freeware that will do it??? I had a look at the PDF toolkit in a previous PCW CD, but nothing really seemed to do what I wanted. I guess Adobe Acrobat would be the best solution, but again - it costs too much. G P

2002-09-30 07:13:00 | I have a suspicion that you can make PDF files with some Linux applications. Might get you started in Linux. ;-) | Graham L (2) | |
2002-09-30 07:18:00 | .... maybe not ... but while I was looking at google, I saw ""Create PDF Files Free" free, instant download, Professional Quality (http://www.pdf995.com). ;-) | Graham L (2) | |
2002-09-30 07:34:00 | Yes, that works, I have just done it with both Word and Publisher file. I used an older version for the last six months, no probs either! | R.M. (561) | |
2002-10-01 01:23:00 | Now where was I? Oh yes. Godfather: Sorry, I made the classical error. Not IE but *Windows* Explorer. The ? should now be: Now that I have a PDF programme, what is the full procedure to follow to Print to File the Help folder of any programme on my computer. As for the possible problem of EasyPDF printing only every other page, what about inserting a dummy page and putting it through a second time? (I wanted to put a suitable, sly-looking emoticon here but could not make that work, either - what a dummy). Orto

2002-10-01 02:01:00 | Ahh, that makes more sense. What format is the help file in? If its in the Windows .hlp format, then ?? You need to find an application that will open it, in fully formatted condition, then from that application select the pdf printer and print it to a file. Some help files are in HTML format, which should open in later versions of Word, but .hlp do not appear to be. I would suggest that if you can get Word to open it, you dont need the pdf, as any printing company should be able to handle it saved as a word file. What package does the help file belong to, as it may be customised to only display from within that package and not be readable as a complete file?

2002-10-01 02:24:00 | Graham, I have Corel Draw 7, don't use it anymore, and was thinking only yesterday of selling it. If you're interested, I could ask the second-hand computer store here what they want for it, and offer it to you for same plus postage. Jandy

2002-10-01 03:49:00 | Graham L - that app does the treat, although the ads are very tiresome. Jandy - thanks for the offer, but I a extremely stapped for cash at the moment as I am moving the length of the country, and all my funds are tied up in moving costs, insurance etc at the mo. I probably wouldn't use it that much anyway. Thanks but no thanks. G P

2002-10-02 23:34:00 | Godfather, I'm back - been busy. Programme is Photoshop, Help is in HTML; it will not open in Word 2000. Orto
