84229 2002-09-28 11:36:00 I just sent a friend an e-mail and I just got this back. I use incredimail XE build 1750710. I have jusy checked the computer with ad-aware and no trace of spyware. I also just updated it with the latest ref. file. I just virus scanned with AVG Free Edition (My Dad's choice) and no virus was found so was this just misdirected mail. I typed in his name like usual and the address in the address book is fine it is his so why did I get this message??? I use windows 98.
If anyone can understand all that please make a post and explain it all to me. I get the top part but that isn't his e-mail address so why is my mail going to them instead of my friend. I have edited it out so that all my info isn't there. Where my IP address was I put (My IP Address) and (My LoginID) etc for the different things. Please help. I have quit out of incredimail any other suggestions??? Was this just mesdirected mail??

84230 2002-09-28 11:46:00 208.45.133.107 is the host xmxpita.excite.com which is the SMTP server for excite.com.
Ignore the ATGWSWatches@Excite.com bit.
You either typed the recipient name wrong or their account has been cancelled or their SMTP server is broken.

84231 2002-09-28 11:53:00 I typed the name right. I went and checked in the sent items folderwhen I got that message back. Brendonny (929)
84232 2002-09-28 11:57:00 OK, then his account is not active for some reason or as mentioned there might be a problem with Excite mail server. Jim B (153)
84233 2002-09-28 11:57:00 Or your email was BOUNCED as it was considered as spam.
Could any of the content words have triggered a spam bounce?

84234 2002-09-28 14:59:00 was friend's email address based @exite.com?

84235 2002-09-28 22:01:00 It had to be an excite address as it was returned by the excite mail server.
Excite have had a lot of problems with mail in recent weeks and it is likely to be this again
Try resending again and it might get through.

Well the impression I got from the first post was that the friends email might not be an @Excite email address as Brendonnay (I think) was surprised to have gotten a bounce from Excite. If the friend is not with Excite, then there could be other problems.

84237 2002-09-28 22:52:00 The impression I got was that he was surprised that it was from ATGWSWatches@Excite.com which is of course the excite mail server when he did not send it to that address.
This is normal with returned mail, it gives the from address as the smtp server of the ISP the mail was addressed to.

84238 2002-09-29 01:47:00 Mike is right. My friend's e-mail address wasn't with excite. My friend's e-mail address was with inbox.net. That is why I was surprised!!!!

I still haven't figured out why I got that message back when I did type my friends name properley I went and checked that since he is in my address book. So I still don't have an answer to my question but I am guessing that it is misdirected mail.
