| 84151 | 2002-09-28 09:58:00 | I have just formatted my hard drive for the first time with much trepidation (don't laugh) and lots of help and info from this site. Everthing went great except for one thing. I run Win 98se and I was unable to get the modem to communicate. Apparently this was caused by because, unlike ME and XP, Win 98 does not contain the drivers for the modem(in my case at least). So perhaps the lesson for win98 OS people is to back up your modem drivers etc. before wiping the HD Thanks F1 contributors for the advice. I appreciate all the advice and enjoy knowing that there's plenty out there have similar probs to me |
