| 84080 | 2002-09-28 07:47:00 | I have a VHS tape I am trying to capture into Studio 7. Video captures fine, but although I can hear audio during capture, when I come to edit it, it hasn't captured audio. I am using 3.5mm Stereo Plug to 2 RCA Plugs, DSE PCI Video Capture Card and Video Coaxial Cable RCA Plug to RCA Plug. So is it possible I have not connected these properly from VCR to computer. Would appreciate some help. | Geraldine (2058) | ||

| 84082 | 2002-09-28 11:26:00 | Hi Geraldine: Seems no one has offered any help as yet. I am not familiar with Studio 7, but have experience in audio recording on the pc. Is it likely that your audio is being recorded through the typical Windows Volume control mixer? Maybe you are aware that that contains two controls. The "Play" controls the inputs that are heard from the speakers. In this inputs can be muted/unmuted. As you can hear the audio during the capture, I guess this is set correctly. The other control is the "Record" control, which determines which input is to be recorded. In this the wanted input needs to be "selected", and the level set. I imagine you have the 3.5mm stereo plug into the soundcard line input, and so it may be worth checking that the line input is "selected" in the record control. Lets know if this is any help, or if you need more assistance. |

| 84083 | 2002-09-29 00:11:00 | Thanks Bazza. Have tried what you suggested with no luck yet. Am not familiar with computer cables and leads, so it's possible it's something really simple (or stupid) that I haven't done. Might try going back to computer shop for their suggestion, so unless anyones close to NP, guess I will have to perservere. Thanks for replies though. Much appreciated. | Geraldine (2058) | ||
