83839 2002-09-27 12:22:00 Hi, Folks.

I want to have a programme help file (9+Mb) printed professionally; the printer would prefer to have this in PDF format, but would I not need a PDF writer in order to do this? Can you advise me on the procedure from go to whoa.

83840 2002-09-27 13:00:00 It was installed by default in earlier word processors (PDF printer)

But as we dont know if you are using Apple Mac or IBM format PC, cannot comment.

Post back some information, and I am sure someone could help.

83841 2002-09-27 13:08:00 1- Download a PDF maker util like EasyPDF
2- Install it
3- Print your help file to the "pdf printer" (it sets it up as a printer driver)
4- send your resulting PDF file to the printer.

83842 2002-09-28 10:46:00 It's an IBM format PC, Godfather. Thanks. Orto Cadd (2049)
83843 2002-09-28 10:49:00 Sure enough, SoniKalien, I have EasyPDF downloaded. Shall follow your path tomorrow. Thank you. Orto Cadd (2049)
83844 2002-09-29 07:08:00 Hi, Sonakalien.

I have downloaded EasyPDF, installed it, and found the pdf printer. I have been trying to find the way to send the Help folder to the printer, as per your instruction, but have failed. Can you give me the path from IE - or wherever - to the printer, please?

Gratefully...

83845 2002-09-29 09:10:00 File - Print

Select the PDF Printer (if you have installed it correctly it should show up) and Print.

Be aware that the demo version of EasyPDF may only print every second page unless you purchase and register it

83846 2002-09-29 09:11:00 Actually that may not work, looking again at your post.

You need to tell us what form the file is that you want to print. If its a web page, give the address and we could look and advise.

83847 2002-09-30 02:03:00 Check the thread 'Publisher to pdf format' earler this year - I think that may have what you want/need. Do a search for it, it works well for me, and also works for Word files.

Cheers :-)

83848 2002-09-30 02:20:00 Hi guys - How would I go about scanning a document to a PDF file???

I have a manual which I would like to scan, but OCR does not retain the formatting, and Scanned images are a pain to have inserted in a word doc - PDF would be great.
