84564 2002-09-30 01:09:00 Hi all.
I just reinstalled my HD after a crash. I use outlook express. It downloads email with attachments, but wont let me view them. The icon comes up pn the msg which brings the drop down menu as if I want to view the file or save it, and it wont let me do either. It is a .doc file and office is installed and working properly so I have no idea.
2) I remember reading somewhere about changing a setting in the registry which specifies how much cache is available, does anyone remember seeing a similar thing or remember the setting to adjust?
3) How do I keep the language tool bar from reappearing everytime I boot up? I turn it off and it keeps coming back and it is driving me mental

84565 2002-09-30 01:18:00 I dont use OE, but try Tools - Options - Security and untick the box which refers to not saving attachments which could be potentially harmful godfather (25)

84567 2002-09-30 01:30:00 hipia036,

If XP (Home or Pro) the go into Control Panel | Regional and Language Options | Details | Language Bar
and uncheck the "Show the Language Bar on the desktop" setting

Similar control panel place for Win98/ME

About the cache setting - which OS and which setting were you interested in?

84569 2002-09-30 01:38:00 XP,
I cant really remember. There was something about optimizing the way windows loads programs by specifiing the amount of L2 cache your chip has, and I cant remember where I saw it.

84570 2002-09-30 02:14:00 Hipia036,

Ok the thread you were thinking of was on PressF1 at L2 cache (pressf1.co.nz)

You can read one of my replies within that thread.

84571 2002-09-30 04:33:00 Where are all the other problems? A myriad - 3 = 9997. ;-) Graham L (2)
84572 2002-09-30 04:50:00 Perhaps a MYRIAD was a little of an exaggeration, but I was stressed out at the time, and it saved me from taking a claw hammer to Bill Gates pointy little head... hipia036 (1959)
84573 2002-09-30 05:00:00 geesh...

I'm glad I backed away from the pc when I did, GF and GL too. BTW clawhammer is AMD 's processor and there is a patch for "Myriad Escaped Characters" at Microsoft support Here (www.microsoft.com), does that apply to you Hipia036?
