| 84372 | 2002-09-29 07:14:00 | After succesfully installing IE 6 in a different directory and hard disk than IE 4, can I safely delete the folder containing IE 4? or does it have to be uninstalled? please help |

It would be right to delete the file, as its still there somewhere. Try deleting IE6 and the upgrading IE4. I would have thought that IE6 tried to upgrade IE4 itself. Sometimes the default settings of the installer is recommended. raddersnz |

It can be uncoupled from the OS, by going to Win98 Lite, but then you are more or less back at Win95. I couldnt see the point of Win98 Lite except to disprove what MS were claiming, but have to admit it was when IE4 was current that I last tried it. |

| 84376 | 2002-09-29 10:01:00 | the point is that if you want to use an alternative browser, then why would you want IE on there too? I would rip it out, but you need it if you want to use windows update. I have another version of 98lite installed solely for playing games on. Less overhead without IE, therefor theoretically better performance. | loser (538) | ||
