| 84314 | 2002-09-29 02:16:00 | Hi, I've just networked my two PC's (running WIN98se). I can share files between both PC's fine, but when i set up printer sharing (i used teh FAQ on this site) it doesn't work. When i go to the PC WITHOUT the printer, and i go to print soemthing, it comes up this: there was an error writing to \\main\printer for the printer HP deskjet. The file will be deleted and in another Dialog box this: PRINTER ERROR The computer has lost communication to the printer theres nothing wrong with the printer - i can print files from the PC tht its connected to fine - no errors nothing. i have got the right drivers, the right settings and everthing... What to do? Your advice would be appreciated. Cheers |

Try removing and reinstalling the "printer" on the "non-printer" box. It should work. :D What protocols have you got installed? NetBEUI is one which has to work ... they've had long enough to get that one right. | Graham L (2) | ||
