84205 2002-09-28 22:48:00 I have Tweak UI installed on ME. Is there any use or advantage to downloading Fresh UI? Do they do essentially the same thing? My Tweak UI would be a couple off years now, is there any way to get an update? Danger (287)
84206 2002-09-29 04:14:00 different programs. tweakUI is microsoft.

i recommend x-setup (http://www.xteq.com/) as well as tweakUI. fresh UI is very basic but looks pretty ;-)

84207 2002-09-29 10:20:00 I use fresh ui. I kinda like it. It WOULD be advantageous to use it alongside tweakui.
freshui can do heaps of stuff tweakui can't.

tweak'e always expresses his dislike for fresh ui ;) eh tweak'e
my impression of xsetup was heaps more features than freshui, but none of them any use to me....

84208 2002-09-29 10:33:00 fresh UI works well but has very few tweaks. a little pointless to have when xsetup does all what freshUI does and more. tweak'e (174)
84209 2002-09-29 10:47:00 that is a valid way of looking at things, but on the other hand, if freshui does everything you can be bothered with, why install something with a million more tweaks, just for the sake of having them?

is it pointless to be using a small program when others have more, or to be using a big prog when a smaller one would do the job....?

but then, you tweak and i'm a loser ;)

84211 2002-10-03 00:44:00 I like Xteq's X-Setup because it contains more options than both Tweak UI and Fresh UI. I'm not too sure about this but I think you can download it at www.xteq.com. :) tony_young (2065)
84212 2002-10-03 01:24:00 Thanks Tony, have done so already. Havent investigated all the options available as yet tho. Already have my pc setup quite different to the std setup, and like it the way it is. Still interested tho to see what this program will allow me to do, just need some spare time:/ Danger (287)
