84558 2002-09-30 09:24:00 Virtual Network Computing - like remote desktop. I can control my PC from any PC on the network using IE. So, I can see my full desktop, and use any app I like including whatever music player I like - don't need horrible winamp and winamp remote control.

84560 2002-09-30 09:30:00 So what program do you use for playing music GP. -=JM=- (16)
84561 2002-09-30 11:24:00 dbpoweramp - it's not that winamp is a bad app per say, it's just that I personally don't like it.

I like a very clean, simple interface with no bells and whistles. Play, stop, skip, random, and maybe one or two others. Plus the music database function of dbpoweramp is very powerful.

I found it one day when I was very new to PC's and was looking for an app to rip mp3s. i found dmc music converter - dbpoweramp is made by the same people, so it was a natural choice. Never looked back (sideways once or twice :)) I am getting my flatmete to try winamp this week as I haven't taken a look at it in a while and he wants an alternative to media player and dbpoweramp for various reasons. I will watch closely and see if it is worth changing - I doubt it.

84562 2002-09-30 11:34:00 I find that WinAmp 3 is not not so good. I'm sticking with 2.81 ;) -=JM=- (16)
84563 2002-09-30 11:48:00 Winamp 3 plays my Audio CDs, but winamp 2.8 is a bit easier on the old resources... SoniKalien (792)
