| 84891 | 2002-10-01 00:33:00 | I recently acquired 4 free laptops from a friend, pretty old models but hey, they were free. What i'm here to ask is if I try using the non-specified Compaq armada 1130T AC adapter, could it possibly be damaging? I tried an ordinary AC adapter but it didn't work and I am hoping it didn't cause any damage. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks | Nastc1 (2096) | ||
| 84892 | 2002-10-01 00:46:00 | As long as you are supplying the correct voltage, and the adapter can handle the current its OK. The laptops are thirsty things so you need something better than an average wall brick. Polarity is also very important. Some Armada models had the adapter internal and connected to 230v I think they were the 1500 model (233Mhz P1 MMX) I run my Tohiba on a home built supply at times, 18 volts 2.4 amps regulated DC. |
