| 84809 | 2002-09-30 11:47:00 | My Dell P200 (128M/4G+4G+CD+CDR) started misbehaving at boot time by locking with a flashing cursor after the Windows95 screen. After much cajouling, and trial & error I can only get the system to boot by restarting into safe mode, then disabling the ethernet adaptor, sound card drivers, and secondary IDE controller. After this the machine boots ok, I can then go back to control panel and turn all of these on again to a functional state. I have changed the network card and driver. Would appreciate any ideas where the problem may lie, and how to nail it (I'm not a registry guru ..... yet ) thnks. |
