| 84901 | 2002-10-01 02:46:00 | I have a friend who has a toshiba Satillite XP Home. He has a problem with his sound - there is none. Checking the sound options in the control panel I find a lot of greyed out boxes. Ahh I say lets reload the drivers. But upon getting to the device drivers window I can't access anything, normally the device manager window opens up and expands to show the device trees. But clicking the expand all button does nothing. Now heres the real catch, his system is chinese. XP Home doeasn't support multilingual so I am stuck with his rather suspect interpretation og what is going on. I don't have access to an english XP Home OS only W2k which is close but not close enough. I have him log on as administrator but this doesn't seem to make a difference. I have a feeling the reason why I can't expand the device manager is something to do with permissions but not having XP myself makes it a little difficult to work out when everything is Chinese. Any ideas out there? |
