85240 2002-10-02 02:44:00 So long as its setup, You probably have TweakUI Installed.
Goto Control Panel and check and see if Tweak UI is there. If it is, let me know and I'll tell you how to get it back. I think its in the Desktop Tab of it, and put a tick next to it!

85243 2002-10-02 03:44:00 Goto PCworld.co.nz and look it up, you can download it from there, Check to see under the Desktop tab if it's there, That's how we've removed it from some PC's at work Chilling_Silence (9)
85244 2002-10-02 03:57:00 You can also hide/restore the Network Neighbourhood via the registry using REGEDIT
(which is what programs like TweakUI do) the key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
The data item is NoNetHood which is a REG_DWORD value of 0 (icon appears) 1 (icon hidden)

As always be careful when using the registry editor.

For those on networks with Win2k / WinXP there are Group Policy Objects (GPO's) which define all of these types of things and the GPO name for the Network icon is "Hide My Network Places Icon On desktop"
