2002-10-01 14:05:00 | i was thinking of making a kinda html help site, hosted at hostnz, for those who needed help with that sort of thing, it would have like basic tutorials and faqs on things such as html, javascript, css, php, mysql, and could even go as far as advanced tutorials on these, etc do you think this would be a rational idea, or do you think the already vast amount of good sites in this line do there jobs well enough. of course, it would have a lot of input from others interested in this sort of stuff and are willing to help out others (anyone here ;)) grtz sal. tga

Usually language is an issue when you find them ie a php site in iceland or russia. Personally I find the international sites helpful because people are visiting and responding while I'm asleep, which ultimately increases my productivity. I don't want to knock, but it'd be awful to put the work in and not get the response you want. |

2002-10-01 22:56:00 | As Sarah King said Don't underestimate the amount of work. In my opinion there are some really great sites out there already but if you where prepared to put in the time and effort then go for it. I'm sure some of us can help out with some of the tutorials as well. Regards Sam H

2002-10-01 23:04:00 | Yeah we can test to see if the code works on all platforms, and thus get shot for being the messenger when it doesn't ! | Chris Wilson (431) | |
2002-10-02 02:27:00 | although i havent done anything like this, i think ive got a fair idea of how hard its gonna be, i was thinking of using something like phpnuke, or some thing, or is that cheating :P but yeah, i might just make a basic site, and see what u guys think, huh (im actually waiting on hostnz to sort out their mysql accounts **Greg S** :P grtz sal. tga

2002-10-02 08:21:00 | It's not cheating to use post-nuke, no more than it is to phpBB or vBulletin etc. Just make sure you have an "edge". Good luck S

2002-10-02 10:38:00 | yeah, i was only kidding, even though things like postnuke make the job a lot easier, theres still a lot of work until its how it should be for the purpose, so ill post up an example later on this week, and see what you guys think grtz sal. tga
