85214 2002-10-02 01:57:00 On the POS PC at work is the Onboard SiS 5598 display adapter. At the moment it only comes up as Standard Grahpics Adapter in 98. The motherboard is:
Sp97-V
Tried that in google and learnt that it was the SiS 5598. Why won't it pick it up as anything other that generic, and where the heck are the drivers???

I'll try the homepage.
Would I need to update Direct X

Cheers

85216 2002-10-02 02:25:00 Hmm... Thanks, I'd found that and tried it out, Only when installing the software (It comes in an Executable with otptions for Driver, DirectX, Screen Utils...) I'll reboot after install as it says, only to get a BSOD when the gui loads! Restarting in safe mode lets me nuke the drivers and go back to standard graphics adapter. Its got 4 Megs setup shared memory in the BIOS.

Cheers

85218 2002-10-02 02:52:00 Errr... Unsure on that one... Dont need to, I had one of these myself a while back, but not running 98. There arent any drivers for the motherboard, just diplay for Win 3.1 and 95 and also NT.

It's the Socket 7 Motherboard SP97-V

Any other ideas?
Cheers
