The official Unreal Tournament 2003 (www.unrealtournament2003.com) downloads page has posted up a copy of the Adobe Acrobat (www.adobe.com) format manual for Unreal Tournament 2003. Apparently some of the manuals that shipped with the game were a bit hard to read as it is had printed with orange text on white paper. If you want a replacement printed copy, just send word at this (www.ina-support.com/) tech-support site and they will organise a replacement printed version. Infogrames has also posted a new UT2003 FAQ which can be read here (http:).

AMD Athlon 2800+ review at AnandTech
Anandtech has posted up a review of the Athlon 2800+ processor, running it through its paces. Here's a clip from the review:
Things haven't been so peachy for AMD as of late; Hammer was officially moved back to next year, the 0.13-micron Thoroughbred-A core didn't scale as well initially as AMD had hoped and facing increasing pressure from Intel, AMD was forced to "paper launch" (launch without beginning volume shipments) the Athlon XP 2600+ and 2400+ in August.

Compare this to the launch of the Athlon XP and its clock bumped successors and you'll see that things aren't as bright for AMD as they once were. This is partially because Intel has finally made the Pentium 4 a worthy competitor, with the Northwood core scaling extremely well. Another contributor to AMD's recent tough times is the strong internal focus on Hammer, but with the CPU around 4 - 6 months away it is impossible to ignore the Athlon XP.

Even though the Athlon XP 2400+ and 2600+ (launched on August 21st) are just now appearing in retail channels, AMD is going ahead with the announcement of their Athlon XP 2700+ and 2800+ processors. The processors won't be widely available for another couple of months, clearly not something to get excited about.

New Bugbear virus targeting Internet Explorer
A new e-mail virus called Bugbear has been infecting unpatched Windows PCs. The W32.Bugbear or I-Worm.Tanatos mass-mailing computer virus started infecting computers via e-mail on Sunday. On Tuesday, it accounted for nearly 11,000 infected e-mail messages intercepted by e-mail service provider MessageLabs' gateway servers. That placed it second to Klez.h, which accounted for about 14,000 e-mail messages. The Bugbear virus infects computers running the Windows operating system and an unpatched version of Internet Explorer 5.5, according to an advisory posted by security company Symantec. A flaw in MIME (the multipurpose Internet mail extensions) lets a malicious program attached to an e-mail message execute when the text of the message appears in Outlook. The software problem was patched by Microsoft almost 18 months ago, but some users apparently have not updated their computers. Read more here (rss.com.com).

New Omega 2.4.66 9066 based drivers for 9X/Me
The Omega crew have released new drivers based on the 9066 Radeon drivers with the following changes:
Based on the official 2.3 Catalyst drivers (9066).
Added support for ALL Radeon Cards since the 9066 drivers only had support for 9700 cards.
Fixed the desktop "freeze" problem using the 9066 drivers in NON 9700 cards by using the 9062 display files (2D only), the rest of them are pure 9066 files.
From now on the WDM files will be a separate download, the link to the latest WDM drivers is avaiable in my ATI drivers page. These files are needed for: Radeon 64MB VIVO (aka: 7200) and Radeon AIW cards (any)
Integrated Control Panel (3027), no need for external CP setup.

NOTE: Don't install the new 3030 Control Panel with these drivers, they remove the Trueform option from the menu.
