I'm not sure now, I found this on the Net from some guy with a similar problem - this is what he said "I quickly tried the old DOS trick--*fdisk /mbr--* which was a long shot that didn't work. But the online Help revealed the Fixboot command, which solved my problem. I can now boot my Win2K installation and get back to work. OK--* my Win98 partition is now unbootable, but that is another (and less important) matter. "

Thanks, but the prob is W98 is still bootable & over wrote the 2000 boot files in C: when I reinstalled W98. So I can't get to BOOT.INI. W98 would have over written it when I reinstalled W98. I tried unchecking hide system files, etc.


I wash my hands of this issue.
