85517 2002-10-02 22:47:00 When I down load a CSV file my browser brings it in as an HTML file. I want to know how to change the system settings to allow CSV files to be down loaded as CSV files.
My operating system is Windows 98SE

85518 2002-10-02 22:50:00 If you "download" a file, IE will not change the file type?

If you "copy" something IE may do so in HTML.

Can you give specifics of what you are doing, and the file info?

85520 2002-10-03 04:39:00 I visit my bank site and download transactions as a CSV file which is the formate my accounting program recognizes. I used to be able to do this task on this computer but now I can't. I know it is something in my operating system because I can still do this task through my laptop.

I suggest you phone your bank and ask them how to fix it. :-)

85522 2002-10-03 10:01:00 is it simply a default currently? Ie it opens them in IE? what you could try if that is the case is try right clicking & choose open with... & select Excel <or whatever> & then make sure you select always open with selected

just a thought
