| 85447 | 2002-10-02 15:38:00 | hi i need some one's help plz i got Linux and windows 98 at the same time right , and i removed i Linux from my system then the only problem is the screen that aske me if i want to go to windows 98 or Linux is still their so i need someone that is good in Linux or something to help me out. thanks. my computer is IBM, original os is windows98, 64MB of ram. so i hope that someone can help me. thaks agin. |

| 85448 | 2002-10-02 15:56:00 | Hi, Removing linux from a partition or hard drive will not remove the linux boot loader ( either grub or lilo ). The boot loader is installed in the Master Boot Record ( MBR ) and can be removed by booting into dos and typing the following command at the command prompt; fdisk /mbr This will overwrite the linux boot loader with the standard dos mbr.
