85264 2002-10-02 05:02:00 I have installed the XP updates but each one has created a new directory in the Windows folder, e.g. $NTUninstallQ314852$. Reading the instructions these folders contain the old files for uninstalling the updates. Everything is working fine, so is it OK to delete these folders to keep my hard drive clean? Bill R (2099)
85265 2002-10-02 06:42:00 Yes it is safe to delete them, but the entries will still remain in the add/remove programs dialog.

There are tweaks to remove them from this list too, but they involve modifying the registry, so if you can possibly put up with them in the add/remove dialog after you delete them it will be easier.

Short answer - yes you can.
