| 85632 | 2002-10-03 01:48:00 | XP home OS; Right click 'My Computer', 'Hardware' tab, 'Device Manager' Button. But I can't expand the 'My Computer'. I need to check the soundcard drivers as there is no sound and several options are greyed out in the sounds window of 'control panel'. My biggest difficulty is the fact that it is running Chinese XP and my Mandarin just isn't up to it. XP home doesn't support multilingual so I changing the region/language settings doesn't help. Logging on as administrator doesn't help Any cunning ideas why I can't expand the device manager? Cheers ~42~ |

| 85633 | 2002-10-03 04:29:00 | Have you run an anti virus lately. I had a prob with 2K not too long ago at home, there was a virus. try: www.grisoft.com or http: Housecall is a free web-based one off scan, grisoft is AVG, a permanent scanner. When I ran a scan on housecall, afterwards I was able to do the same thing. Not sure why... Might be different for you. Mandarin?? Sure, I'd love an orage :p Just kidding |
