| 85667 | 2002-10-03 03:24:00 | I have been using the registry key HKEY Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\WinLogin\Default Password to automatically log in to windows 98SE, however since enabling my NIC it will no longer do this, does anyone know why this is/how to get around it(without 3rd party software). N.B. I am wanting to log in using Client for microsoft networks so changing to windows login is not an option. Thanks. |

If you want to keep it like that, you could try installing something like Powertoys for Win 98. I'm not sure about the 98 version, as it's been a long time since I used it, but in the XP version of powertoys theres an autologin setting so that you can set username and password (if there is one) and it'll auto login for you when you boot up the machine. (I'm fairly sure it's there in the Win98 powertoys). Mike. |
