I have AVG virus detection software that I have set to check for updates every night. AVG tries to automatically connect to the internet site every night to update itself and this worked well in the past. However, for some reason my dial-up network settings no longer holds my password in the settings (I can still specify it but it doesn't stick) so when AVG goes to connect to the internet the password is missing and the task fails. I have three questions. How do I change the settings so that I can get AVG to automatically connect every night? Is it wise to make this change? If not, is there a safer but equally hands-free way of checking for updates? Keep in mind that I am essentially very lazy and do not want to have to remember to check for updates manually. |
