86274 2002-10-05 03:46:00 explain to me someone. why exactly my Windows 98 se keeps coming up with the error at start up..Windows Registry Checker, has a problem accessing your registry i will restart and it will do all its stuff but then i lose my previous settings, have the reason why my LAN wouldn't work.

nearly every single time I change a setting, registry stuffs up.

so i goto start - run - msconfig and untick ScanRegistry, yet there is some kinda registry checker built into the windows start up sequence, so i delete Scanregw.exe and it still does it sometimes.

but why would it be erroring so much. its quite frustrating.

86277 2002-10-05 07:04:00 At the risk of pointing out the obvious, take it back to where you bought it and get them to fix it under the warrenty. Rod ger (316)

192 = 32 + 128????
32 + 128 = 160
I'm guessing you probably mean that one stick is 64 and the other 128?

If your system is still under warranty, then take it to the shop and get them to fix it under warranty.

86279 2002-10-06 01:26:00 well. in an effort to stop all my settings going back to how they were (stopping the registry to screw up)

i deleted scanreg.exe and scanregw.exe

86280 2002-10-06 02:32:00 Now you wont be able to backup/ restore/fix etc your registry. You should put those files back again by extracting them off the installation CD. You wont cure the problem that way :)

Of course you could just delete the whole of windows, then you'd have no problems at all. ]:)
