85944 2002-10-04 03:09:00 Hello I REALLY need to flash my bios on my laptop, i got the bios on disk ran it, as it's checking my system it then says An update is not necessary at this time, the process has been cancell..when it is accually REALLY necessary, i need updated CDrom support...why would it do this. Nastc1 (2096)

85946 2002-10-04 03:26:00 of course silly me, IBM thinkpad 760LD, stock bios i believe, and upgrading to 1.30, I am useing the program IBM supplies on their website Nastc1 (2096)

i'm not that good with IBM laptops so it might be an idea to post the web addy for that program/bios and why you think it needs to have bios update.

85948 2002-10-04 04:21:00 Yes, if IBM don't think you need to flash the BIOS, you probably shouldn't. Perhaps you have downloaded the wrong version. Read the page from which you did the download ... they usually give pretty good information about what's what. Graham L (2)
