1316241 2012-12-04 00:00:00 My HDD died, got a new Seagate 1TB HDD, (partitioned: C: 300GB and D: 600GB) reimaged the new HDD from backup drive - went through smoothly. :)

When I tried to create another image to my D: this error pops up saying that I have insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data. The error cocde is 0x8004231F. My D: is empty!

Re-sized the shadow storage as suggested HERE (answers.microsoft.com) but doesn't work.

What can I do next?

1316245 2012-12-04 01:07:00 Oops. not working. Anyway, here is the instructions: (copied from the site)

"Solution 2 - Remove old VSS snapshots

During normal Windows operation, restore points will be created during software installation and other day to day operatonal tasks. These restore points create snapshots that reside in an area of the disk and consume disk space.

This disk space can be reclaimed by using the vssadmin command in an elevated MS-DOS command prompt. The following KB article will help with launching an elevated command prompt. Once the command prompt is loaded, enter the following command:

vssadmin delete shadows /all
