1291782 2012-07-31 02:04:00 Am so gutted for the Quad Woman Rowing team last night one of the girls ore snapped. They were gaining heaps of speed and prob would have made it! If not even contested Aussie for 1st. Feels go out for them. But we still got great teams (and Mahe of course) still contending.

Mark Todd is doing very well. Nuff Said.

Pity about the Swimming Team this Olympics - but still might have a chance at a medal yet. What about the Lithuanian (aged 15) this morning? First time they've won a medal in the pool at the Olympics and it was done in style! And the Chinese girl who smashed the WR by > 1 second and beat her personal best by 5!!! Pity it will cause some suspicion but watch this space. Also the American Men not doing as well as everone expected. Phelpes who?

GBR yet to win a Gold - watch this space also.

Hopefully the men's Hockey/Football teams can come back from their unfortunate losses - However the Woman's Hockey did well against a tough Auzzie side! Oly Oly Oly Whites Whites Whites

I would say that's my 10 cents but it's more like one fiddy :p

1291784 2012-07-31 02:15:00 I think if our guys go over and dont be PBs then they shouldnt be there. Mark Todds 7th time... Geez cant you let someone else go. Everytime one of these older ones go it is a younger person that misses out. But still hope he gets a medal. Gobe1 (6290)

Name a single sporting event which isn't the same?

My point exactly! Sports bums are all hedonistic charlatans with a macho-inferiority-persecution complex anyway. Why pander to them?

If they knitted their own uniforms and built their own running shoes, THEN there'd be something worth watching!

1291788 2012-07-31 02:20:00 Hahahaha point taken .

But in the here and now they're (the games that is) a lot bigger, more televised, better timing/measuring/recording equipment, (opening/closing ceremonies) lazers and special effects, building new stadiums . . . money has to come from somewhere .

1291789 2012-07-31 02:22:00 ....besides, this is a very pompous, pampered set of 'stars' on the athletic-prowess kind who've had silver spoons inserted in-utero to make sure they came out raring to run/jump/throw/pull/climb/balance from before they were born.

When I was a kid my mom put honey on my hands and gave me a feather to play with. THAT was my sporting accomplishment - but alas, it isn't an Olympic Event - yet.

1291790 2012-07-31 02:24:00 ...for sporting events, she'd put a lamb chop on a string around my neck and gave me a 30-second head start through wolf territory.

That was training!

Mark Todd's horse is doing very well.

Having owned an ex-showjumper horse myself, I can tell you the horse is perfectly capable of doing well even when ridden by a complete novice who allows the horse to be in charge.
