1292289 2012-08-14 10:17:00 I am happy with my Win7 so haven't tried Win 8. Actually I don't need it to. Win 8 is great for a tablet but not for a desktop or laptop IMO. Marvin Barrett (16723)
1292290 2012-08-14 11:22:00 So currently 62% would not get it. Does that mean you either have a older computer and stay with a pre Win8 and/or you are going to downgrade that laptop or install Win7 on a custom new PC  really ... Nomad (952)
1292291 2012-08-14 11:42:00 The main motivation for me to use windows over mac is games. Windows 8 has massive problems with openGL and what not. Not even worth getting it until it is fixed ie everything plays on windows 8. If microsoft drops 7 before this is fixed I might as well go out and buy a mac to use as a gaming pc. icow (15313)

Considering Valve is doing a major push with Linux that would probably be a better proposition.

No, the OS is written in Assembly, C and C++. Apps can be written in HTML/CSS.

Meh I'd probably pirate copies of 7 over buying 8. Valve might be "pushing" Linux but they have already pushed Mac. Someone care to explain what the deal with graphics drivers are on linux? It seems to want you to pay for "premium" drivers all the time.
