1316470 2012-12-05 00:03:00 I have just finished setting up a iPad for my mother inlaw with a 2deegress sim. very dissapointed with the speed feels like dial up from 15 years ago.
Any suggestions for a better provider.Vodafone, Telcom or somebody else. She has no internet connection at home
TIA Wayne

1316471 2012-12-05 00:18:00 Telecom for sure - assuming you have decent reception there. Vodafone/2degrees is totally hopeless around here (Tasman). wratterus (105)
1316472 2012-12-05 00:20:00 Is 2degrees the original provider? And can you use someone else, if 2degrees is who you signed up with? If it hasn't been jailbroken.

Did you set it up like this?? (www.2degreesmobile.co.nz) Probably be easier if you had wireless, if its got it

1316474 2012-12-05 00:45:00 Hi Speedy didn't see your post untill now all brand new, it just that I purchased the 2degrees sim card when we picked up the iPad All works great on my wireless and yes all setup as per your link. I will swap out the sim with a Telecom one and start again.
Cheers Wayne

1316475 2012-12-05 01:01:00 Yeah Telecoms XT network, without a doubt!! Chilling_Silence (9)
1316476 2012-12-05 01:06:00 It varies by area. At work my Vodafone smartphone gets speed test results of 3-4 Mbps at home it's lucky to get 500kbps.
Both networks have good areas and bad ones. Telecom XT does seem to have the best average speeds but it depends on coverage in your area
