1315951 2012-12-02 08:51:00 I'm a clever chap. I have managed to delete the contents of my GAMES folder in windows 7. The folder is still there but it only contains the "empty" message.
How can I get them back without doing a full reinstall?

1315952 2012-12-02 08:52:00 Have you looked in the Recycle Bin? Jen (38)
1315953 2012-12-02 08:56:00 See if this helps, Open Programs and features in the control panel, on the left click Turn windows features on or off - untick Games. Then re-tick it again, the games should reinstall. wainuitech (129)
1315954 2012-12-02 08:59:00 Try this assuming Windows 7:
Go Start and type windows features in the search box, then click on the "Turn Windows features on or off", check the Games box and see if the come back.

Edit: you beat me to it whilst typing slowly... :)

1315955 2012-12-03 01:12:00 Not in recycle bin.
It shows up in features with each game in it's sub folder, but turning it on and off does nothing.

1315956 2012-12-03 01:22:00 "sfc /scannow" ? Agent_24 (57)
1315957 2012-12-03 02:17:00 Thanks. Scannow fixed it.
All I have to do now is figure out why.

1315958 2012-12-03 02:35:00 Don't worry about it Jack. Windows does do strange things at times. I have accidently deleted stuff that had somehow turned up in my recycling bin.

1315959 2012-12-03 02:59:00 Thanks. Scannow fixed it.

sfc /scannow command tells Windows to scan all system files and check if they exist and are the correct versions.

If it finds any files missing or incorrect \ corrupt it replaces them with the correct versions. You may need the Windows install disc(s) when this happens.
Since the Windows Games folder is part of Windows, it must scan that too.
