1292239 2012-08-02 02:41:00 Nup, might as well use the Xbox. Its similar, and will have a browser soon (IE). Think I'll stick with Win7 Speedy Gonzales (78)
1292240 2012-08-02 02:44:00 No I'm poor and broke and actually like Win7 gary67 (56)
1292241 2012-08-02 02:48:00 After using Windows 8 as my OS for the last 4 months I have gone back to using Windows 7 as my OS. I find 7 alot easier to use even after becoming familiar with 8. There is actually no differance between 7 and 8 apart from the fancy eye candy.

1292242 2012-08-02 02:52:00 +1 trev but soon they will stop selling win7, if you buy a new pc you will have no choice. I like 7 but the move to 8 will be unavoidable like every other release Gobe1 (6290)
1292243 2012-08-02 02:53:00 None of the above options apply to me: as a computer scientist student I'm almost certain I'll be getting a free copy (like Windows 7, Vista and XP). pcuser42 (130)

1292245 2012-08-02 03:19:00 I voted maybe, I like 7 but with the cheap upgrade prices I'm hearing about and the fact that it apparently applies to windows 8 pro I might grab a copy or maybe 2 for my machines if it looks like there are extra features available or to save money if it turns out later there's some good reason to upgrade. For example after buying a NAS I was dissapointed to discover 7 home premium wont back up over a network.

Mostly though I'm leaning towrds no, I see no compelling reason to upgrade for now.

1292246 2012-08-02 03:25:00 Depends if there will be any decent 3rd party tools etc for it to make it look like Windows 7, because my current opinion of it is that it's stupid.

I'm happy with XP and Windows 7 still. I really don't see any good reason at all to get Windows 8, and I don't like the look of Metro.

1292247 2012-08-02 03:25:00 I generally get the latest version when I update my machine.

But I held off on getting Windows 7, but now realise that I was silly to do so, as it has so many advantages for me.

I need to study what Windows 8 has to see if it is worth getting it.
