| 1291745 | 2012-07-31 01:27:00 | It was tragic that it happened and some here think it goes on all the time, although I've never been near one when it did. I was in the middle of the SLA Shootout in LA when that happened - but that's another story. But - and here's an interesting point - THIS state (Montana) has more firearms per-capita than almost any other state except possibly New York City where it's illegal to have any guns unless a seated judge actually signs off on you for a permit. One can buy machine guns here - yes, weapons that spit hundreds of rounds a second - millions of rounds according to the news outlets - and yet just look at the map on this site's page and see what color Montana is. www.thedailybeast.com Actually all-such 'cowboy states' with that Old West mentality had no shootings reportable for this interactive map. States that had no mass-shooting (two or more victims in the same clip / weapon / shooter's sights) - and they are all legally a CCW state (CCW = Carry Concealed Weapon) are in a short list below:: Montana (natch) New Mexico (NOT Mexico proper which has mass killings every hour) North Dakota (Bloodiest Indian War state in the Union) South Dakota (Indian Wars overflowed to here) Wyoming (Where 'The Pecos' is West of) Iowa (not necessarily a good model; people here are planting / harvesting / shucking corn here all the time) West Virginia (SUPER Redneck country there!) New Hampshire (Eh, yup! This is a PINK (Democratic) State, and I guess gotta be mass killing-less because it's too cold to hold a firearm and actually point it at someone!) Maine (Monster lobster makes people mellow - serotonin and endorphins and all) The biggest head count seems to be in Democratically controlled states where the liberals are always fussing and steaming about gun control, when they cannot control weapons with the laws they have on the books. So - what's their idea for a cure? Write new laws. (Gads - that slays them in the comedy clubs.) Don't let the gray area in Mexico fool ya. If they had a color for the number of people killed in Mexico on an hourly basis, the color would be: vomit. Mexico, FYI, is so strict in their gun control laws that a Federali is allowed to dispatch you on sight (that means to shoot you) if you're caught with so much as a bullet, even if you have no firearm in which to put it. Owning a bullet in Mexico is a crime punishable by death - summary and instant - 'cause you'll never get to court to make a test case outta the arrest. Mexican cops are allowed to have weapons however - anything they can confiscate from anyone else is OK. Of course the Mexican citizen's biggest fear is an armed cop. They are on the take by the drug cartels and the politicians from El Presidente down are all corrupt. |

Or both. Fish are your friends - and since we don't eat fish , they don't have to carry personal protection. |

According to Wikipedia: "Despite the town's population of 3,560,[1] Cabot Cove became notable as a place where a large number of murders took place... More visitors to Cabot Cove died than residents" |

| 1291753 | 2012-07-31 04:34:00 | Funny how mass shootings are important and make the news but car accidents which kill buku people more are not. | prefect (6291) | ||
| 1291754 | 2012-07-31 04:45:00 | Yeah - Beaucoup dead people in car accidents aren't the only concern though. I see so-o-o many people ejected from their cars / trucks here since they refuse to wear seatbelts. Then they get ejected and the vehicle they were riding in is their coup d'état. I also see kids heads bopping up and down in cars so you KNOW they aren't in child seats or wearing belts either. Strange - to me anyway - is that a driver can load a whole softball team of kids in the back of a pickup truck and drive down the highway and it's not illegal. |
