1291543 2012-07-30 03:08:00 WHats the hourly rate for IT Level 1 Support?

Nothing fancy.

Work will include
Responding to IT user queries/requests: these will come from phone calls, emails, the Web based HelpDesk and staff coming to see you. Keep records and escalate as required. This includes phone system issues.
Document builds and the process incl Word/Excel/email set up.
Create an “IT user help” document (incl phones) to be sent to all NZ users with monthly updates.
et cetc

What do you think is reasonable?

1291544 2012-07-30 03:16:00 Probably start around $32 -> $38K, depending on experience, how quickly you pick things up and things.

Can work your way up to ~$50K, again depending on what you're doing, how specialized you are at what you do, stuff like that.

I've got zero relevant qualifications (Did MCDST back in the day, found it a total waste of time), but still was about to do all the above, you'll find you progress to a junior network admin and then a network admin role quite easily from there, along with the payrise to suit :)

1291545 2012-07-30 03:20:00 Hourly rate Chill. Its not full time, so I need to get some idea of an hourly rate. Iantech (16386)
1291546 2012-07-30 03:39:00 $16-17?/ hour gary67 (56)
1291547 2012-07-30 04:29:00 Yeah, around $16 - $18/hour sounds reasonable. Though I suspect there has been a trend towards paying L1 Helpdesks in Bananas lately, as most I've had to deal with are pure monkeys. inphinity (7274)

Take an annual salary, divide by 52 weeks, then divide by 40 hours in a working week ;)
