86575 2002-10-06 10:18:00 At last found time to have a look at Knoppix but am stuck at the starting post. Working from the PC World article I went to Bios (my machine does not list Advanced Bios settings) instead it has Bios Features Setup which is the same thing I guess. The thing is...My boot sequence is A, C, SCSI.
and I don't think I have SCSI gear. I have just seen references to Ultru DMA in Device Manager under Hard disk controllers.
Before I do any fiddling with the Bios, any help from the forum wizards would be welcome and I will supply any further details if required.

Cheers Ken.

86576 2002-10-06 10:22:00 where you see the boot sequence a,c,scsi go down to that then scroll through the optoins untill you find one that starts with cdrom. the keys to use will hopefully be written on the screen. save changes put cd in and hopefully it will boot from cd. tweak'e (174)

Shame on me....I went back to the Bios screen, probably as you were writing your reply, and tried the page up - page down keys on the boot sequence item and there were the options including CD-COM. But thanks for your help anyway. I'll try Knoppix again tomorrow.

Cheers Ken.
